Meaningful data
I ran 10.5 miles this morning. Florida is an interesting place to run. According to the Garmin, I only ran 30 ft uphill over 10.5 miles. That is flat. I also noticed that my heart-rate was remarkably flat at ~170 bpm for most of the run. When I had my fitness levels measured at Duke Sports Fitness this Spring, I was told that my lactate tolerance level was 172 bpm. The lactate tolerance level is the level above which you can't maintain speed. I wondered about this number because I can run with a heart-rate over 190 bpm during a 5K (3.1 miles), but apparently I exhaust my body's reserves at some point after that and can't run any faster. So, if I want to be a faster runner, I'll have to train differently. That's something to start when P90X is over.
